Aga Khan Health Services (AKHS) is one of the most comprehensive private, not‐for‐profit health care systems in the developing world with community health programs in large geographical areas in Central and South Asia, as well as in East Africa.

The Aga Khan Health Services, Afghanistan (AKHS, A) was established in 2003 as part of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). AKHS, A provides health care services mainly on behalf of the government including the Ministry of Public Health’s of Afghanistan’s Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) and Essential Package of Hospital Services (EPHS). AKHS, A is unique both in scale and scope, delivering critical health services along the continuum of care, from Community Health Workers (CHWs) to ISO certified hospital facilities.

Since 2003 AKHS, A is implementing Healthcare services in Bamyan, Baghlan and Badakhshan provinces. The agency’s scope of work includes the provision of primary and secondary Healthcare, Preventive and curative medical care, Nursing and Midwifery education, Human Resources Development and Hospital Management. The current working modality and role of AKHS, A in Bamyan and Badakhshan provinces as BPHS and EPHS implementer. AKHS, A provides technical support as well as capacity building of health personnel, immunization services, nutrition trainings and the training of Community Health Nurses and Community Health Midwifery.

AKHS, A tapped into internal and other donor fundings to continue supplementary and complementary supports to the national health system. Moreover, AKHS, A scale up AKDN innovations, including, expansions of e-Health services, e-learning initiatives, and cross border arrangements. To promote healthy environment, AKHS, A is implementing net zero and greenhouse gas emission.

• Enter data and orders into computer for filling.
• Act based on pharmacy guidelines and State Board of Pharmacy Regulations.
• Verify all information is complete on according to the consumption report
• Send incomplete, unclear or rejected Monthly Consumption Report to appropriate health facility for resolution.
• Update the supply database on a regular basis.
• Be responsible for all the data entry into the Supply database.
• Enter data from paper data collection forms and aggregated reports into pre-formatted Excel spreadsheets or the TST online database. The data will be collected, and paper reports produced by the Quality Improvement Officer of the provincial team and will include, but not limited to:
  • HQIP Baseline assessments of health facilities and health posts
  • Follow-up mentoring visit actions and results of health facilities and health posts
  • other paper-based data as required by M&E
• Update existing data.
• Retrieve predeveloped reports from the TST database or Excel/spreadsheets as requested.
• Monitor and respond to issues and questions raised by TST database managers and the end users at province and address the issue.
• Comply with AKHS, A’s data integrity and security policies.
• Generate periodic and ad hoc progress reports using the standard predefined reports and pivot tables, as per supervisor’s request.
• Fulfill any other tasks requested by the supervisor with the general scope of work of the position.
• Support the M&E Manager in developing and implementing an effective M&E system for AKHS, A,
• programs and activities.
• Provide leadership and assistance to regions and units in implementing the system.
• Facilitate on-going monitoring and evaluation of the programs in regions.
• Develop and conduct trainings and ensure that all concerned staff in the region are aware and trained to use the M&E system.

Qualifications:

1. MD Degree
2. Strong background in Monitoring and Evaluation.
3. Knowledge of HMIS is appreciated.
4. Strong communications skills.
5. Computer literacy specially in database
6. Ability to communicate in written and oral English, Pashtu and Dari languages.
7. Proficient computing skills – word processing, spreadsheet design and presentations.
